Earthy and surreal, Rose Blush Macchia illustrates Chihulyâs mastery of color. Itâs a stunning example of the Macchia series, inspired by Chihulyâs desire to use all 300 colors in the hotshop.
The sculptureâs vitality emerges from brilliant, variegated spots of orange and red pigments. These pigments, stretched and transformed in the process by breath, heat, and gravity, are illuminated against shadowy bands of rose and violet hues. A radiant yellow lip wrap emphasizes the classic rippling form of the Macchia series and bridges the colloquy between the exterior color and the soft blue interior.

2017 Studio Edition
Every year, Chihuly creates four Studio Editions, representing his most distinctive series. As every piece is handblown, your artwork may vary slightly in size, color, and shape. Small blemishes or imperfections in the glass are part of the glass blowing process and add to the individual characteristics of each piece.
