With its sweeping arcs and arabesques, Byzantine Blue Persian is evidence of Chihulyâs predilection for glass as a vehicle for color and the transmission of light.
It is the first Persian edition composed of three individual elements. The largest, sheer pearly blue at its center, fans and opens out to a deeper blue rim conveying its swaying spines and graceful movement. Within it rests a dazzlingly red-striped form that provides an inviting and contrasting dimension. The compositionâs final element, a rich blue, expressive, and gently coiled serpentine form, reiterates the poetic suppleness of the sculpture in its entirety.

2017 Studio Edition
Every year, Chihuly creates four Studio Editions, representing his most distinctive series. As every piece is handblown, your artwork may vary slightly in size, color, and shape. Small blemishes or imperfections in the glass are part of the glass blowing process and add to the individual characteristics of each piece.
